Emerging Singapore's Fashion Designers


A.W.O.L by Alfie Leong

The company was set p in 2004 by Alfie Leong, who believes fashion is a lifestyle and everyone deserves a voice in it; regardless of gender, race, religion or age. The aim is to create unconventional garments for consumers who want to express themselves and be inspired. The core concept in to merge the boundaries between creativity and practically fusing a diverse world of inspiration and culture. A.W.O.L focuses at being different allowing the consumers to express their individualism. 

A.W.O.L ’s cornerstone are uniqueness, designers affordability, essential and high quality material. 









Saturday by Nic Wong

Saturday embodies the carefree spirit of the weekend soul. It emphasizes the simplicity and the comfort wearable fashion.Denoted by its careful draping and asymmetrical designers, the brand reflects every facade of a modern woman. 
Saturday weaves a strong identity with its quirky take on classic forms. The designer the import ace of timeless design and its ability to transcend trends and create a strong identity for the consumers. Each collect marries classic styles with up-to-date aesthetic elements. 





RÊVASSEUR by Gilda Su 

Revasseur is a mix of whimsical and somewhat un-normal designs, with strong silhouettes, a play on textures and prints, and some down-right outrageous over-the-top novelties, resulting in unique garments and accessories that brings smiles to the face of its wearers. The brand’s name means “daydreamer” in French, the label’s aim is to bring “fun back into fashion, to encourage its wearers to experiment and to make a statement with a personal style that is uniquely theirs.”

The designer used to express her personality in her clothing through the   designs and color palettes.

As with many young fashion labels, it’s clear that Rêvasseur is an on-going work-in-progress. There is always the need for designers to balance creativity with commercial reality, and runway wow-factor with wearability.







MAE PANG  by Mae Pang 

Re-imagining design, art and fashion, MAE PANG is a cutting-edge womenswear label at the intersection of aesthetics and innovation. With a vision that speaks to street-smart modernists and concept vultures, the label creates sharp threads with shape, line and color with fabrics such as its signature mesh.









Ong Shunmugam 

Ong Shunmugam is a contemporary womenswear label with a simple quest to craft beautiful clothes by focusing on sartorial construction instead of fast fashion.
Designed and made across Asia, the brand  trays too rework on familiar influences, weaving traditional textile techniques, colors and silhouettes into the modern wardrobe, while deliberately disregarding stereotypes and caricatures.




AIJECK  by Danelle Woo

Aijeck was created in 2010 with the aim to create a line comprising beatifu, easy and effortless pieces with sustainable high quality fabrics. Chossing to work mostly with natal fibrils such as silk, the designer tries to present them in a new and modern feminine silhouettes, the out come is a timeless creation of ready-to-wear pieces. 





 Triologie

Launched in 2010, when a trio of friends decided to put pen to paper and draw up their vision of a fashion label dedicated to the happy, free-spirited and world-savvy woman.
Inspired by the joys of wanderlust, Triologie is conceived for the modern female who loves to discover and enrich her life with fresh experiences.Dreamer, traveller and trendsetter all at once, the Triologie woman possesses a timeless fervour for life, transcending boundaries with delightful ease. A trait embodied in the trinity of free-placing circles defining our identity. Embracing spontaneity, wearability and versatility.







Max.Tan 

Serious but never severe, minimal but never simple, fragile but never weak. 

Experiments with quirk cuts and expanding on extremely simple ideas define the max.tan language. Maximising on minimalistic ideas, this complex language results in details that are sometimes blown out of proportions. The garments play with volume, modified shapes and use. The contrast between masculine and feminine, oversized and undersized, deconstruction and reconstruction; transformation.
These factors form the underlying DNA of max.tan. The label advocates an alternative and quiet fashion lifestyle.







Carrie K 

This brans creates playfully provocative artisan-crafted jewellery that challenges traditional notions of what makes something precious and desired. Carrie K accessories tell stories that celebrate the beauty of imperfection and marvel at the mundane in everyday life. This label embodies the old school about taking the time and care to handcraft meaningful, covetable, little loves that will be valued for a long time.











20:TWOTHREE

Melding conceptually defined cuts with geometry and draping, the creations deliver the most basic yet intimate silhouettes. Heavy influence from the nature of raw materials, coupled with thought-provoking concepts.
The brand's aim is to instill a sense of individuality in their consumers. The garments transcend genders and body proportions; one’s personal style need not conform to the banes of modern society.



PAULINE.NING by Pauline Lim

Eponymous label PAULINE.NING is the brainchild of Pauline Lim who made no hesitation in forming her label upon graduation in 2009.

PAULINE.NING is a new emerging independent designer based in Singapore that produces urban ready-to-wear feminine designer clothing with a touch of edginess bringing together contemporary fashion and traditional hand crafted work. Creating with the trend setter in mind, PAULINE.NING thrives by delivering quality products and innovative fashion trends to meet the needs of the individual mind.

Naturally drawn to organic shapes and elements, gathering together contradictions, the works result in having a mix opposites – raw and refined, structured and soft. With the ensemeble of different fabrics (material, texture and color) in one garment, minimal touches of hand-crafted detailing in the garments give a unique combination. With these intricate detailing, the garments are elaborate and statement pieces by themselves.






ELOHIM BY SABRINA GOH 

SABRINA GOH, Singapore based designer. Graduating from LASALLE SIA College of the Arts, she worked for several brands before she started her brand "ELOHIM BY SABRINA GOH" at year 2009.
Growing up as a draughtsman's daughter, she draws inspiration from architectural form, sculpting strong and yet sensuous silhouette that celebrates confidence in wearer from inside out.   
ELOHIM which comes from a Hebrew word, meaning "God of Creativity, Creator, Mighty and Strong", Sabrina Goh named her brand after God's name as a dedication of her faith. Aspires to create, she mixes the elements of menswear and womenswear, symmetry and asymmetry, in order to develop forms into unexpected details and silhouette. Exploring colors, cutting, textures, fabrication and contrasts between matt and shine, her approach to the clothes is primarily conceptual at its heart.
